Robyn and Matt had their hearts set on an intimate destination with tropical details. Matt is South African and loved the idea of a beach wedding. While Robyn is a hippy at heart and dreamed of barefoot wedding portraits.
After holidaying on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, the couple fell in love with the relaxed atmosphere, sunshine and tropical foliage. When they discovered Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, they knew they had found their wedding venue.
Their ceremony took place under a thatched cabana on the beach. Decorated with palm leaves and frangipani’s to match the bride’s bouquet.
The couple also took part in a Mauritian sand pouring ceremony at sunset. The sand ceremony involves mixing sand from two jars to symbolise your union. The sand is then poured into a shell before being given back to the ocean where the waves carry your love as far as the eye can see.
The wedding party enjoyed cocktails at the beach bar after the ceremony. Following cocktail hour and the couples’ portrait session, they made their way to the restaurant for dinner on the shoreline.
