If you’re going to have a destination wedding, chances are, some of your guests have never been to that destination before. As you will usually have the whole weekend with them, it’s always a good idea to plan a few adventures for everyone so they can fall in love with the place as much as you have.

Whilst in Cyprus I did some adventuring of my own and have come up with a list of 8 things I really enjoyed and are worth doing with your loved ones… Things that will give them a taste of what Cyprus is all about.

So in no particular order, here are my top 8 things to do with your wedding guests in Cyprus:

1. Explore the Cypriot Wine Routes

If you’re anything like me, you will be pleasantly surprised by the fact that Cyprus has a wine route. Upon arrival I had no idea! There are a number of routes you can take, I did route 3, all of which have beautiful views and will take you high up into the mountains and through quaint villages. This is definitely something to do with your guests as it gives you a completely different perspective on Cyprus as well as introducing you to some rather delicious wine. 2. Grab a Coffee at the Vintage Art House

The Vintage Art House was one of my favourite discoveries in Cyprus. Located in Paphos, it is a treasure trove of nostalgia and trinkets from the last 20-50 years. The perfect place for you and your guests to relax and enjoy a drink ahead of your wedding festivities. For more about my visit to the Vintage Art House, click here.

3. Lunch at Oniro By The Sea

Oniro By The Sea has one of the most unique views I have ever seen. They literally have a ship wreck in the bay right in front of their restaurant. Couple that with a fab menu and some pretty delicious cocktails, and it’s an awesome place for lunch! And, your guests will get to snap photos while they wait for their food. 4. Visit the Turtle Nesting Beach

Cyprus boasts some beautiful Turtle nesting beaches. Once you have made the 4×4 journey  through the Akamas, take a walk down to the sand and have a look at the protective cages over the nests, read through the conservation information and enjoy the view. If any of your guests are animal lovers, they will find it fascinating.

5. Hang Out in a Hammock at Sea You Beach Bar

I left a piece of my heart hanging in a hammock at Sea You Beach Bar in Potima Bay. This is the perfect place for sundowners with all the people you want to share your special day with. Heck, it’s the perfect place to go and enjoy a coffee (or cocktail… definitely a cocktail!) on your own too. It must be one of my favourite places in Cyprus. Do yourself a favour and just go there.

6. Swim Around Aphrodite’s Rock

Aphrodite’s Rock is shrouded in mythology. Not only is it located in the most stunning and dramatic setting, but if any of your guests are keen on eternal beauty or falling in love (possibly with another of your guests?), they might want to attempt a swim around it. 7. Play in the Adonis Baths Waterfalls

I have always had a thing for waterfalls… It’s one of my greatest dreams to shoot a wedding at the foot of a waterfall in Hawaii (but that’s a completely different story for a completely different blog post). My visit to The Adonis Baths Waterfalls was wonderful. There is nothing better then swimming in fresh, cold water, surrounded by trees, statues and nature. I really felt like I was being transported back in time – something your guests will love.

8. Relax on a Glass Bottom Boat Trip to the Blue Lagoon

I am a complete Beach Baby. Anything to do with the sea, being on the beach, swimming in the ocean… I’m there! So when I got to do a Glass Bottom Boat trip to the Blue Lagoon, I was literally ready to jump up and down and do a dance.

In all fairness, there isn’t much to see under the boat at midday, but viewing the rocks and sea bed was something I had not got to do before and was fun. I spent most of my time on the top deck trying to get a tan (definitely something the girls attending the wedding will appreciate). The Blue Lagoon itself was amazing though. I have been to many beaches in many parts of the world and I have never seen water like that. If you do nothing else on this list, make sure you take your guests to visit the Blue Lagoon. You won’t be disappointed!

I will agree with most but number 7 as this place is made up and doesnot offer value for a 9 euro entrance there are more interesting places around the area to visit. Not worth the off road trip and fee. Especially with waterfalls like Millomeris and Caledonian for free on the way to Troodos. I would replace number 7 with Tzelefos bridge.
