The hills are slowly starting to change colour, yachts are beginning to appear in the bay’s and a multitude of new little lives can be found in the shepherds fields… Spring has well as truly sprung on the island of Ithaca.
April and May are beautiful months on the island. The weather is warming up, the skies are clear and the sun shines brightly during the day. Now while most people choose to marry during the summer months, I personally think there are great benefits should you choose to marry in Spring on Ithaca.
Although you may not have 35 degree heat, your days will reach temperatures in the mid twenties (so you won’t melt walking down the aisle). As there are not that many tourists on the island during this time, going out to a restaurant with your guests is like having your own private party with out the price tag. The restaurant owners also have more time at this time of year, so if you go into a restaurant a few days early, you may even be able to negotiate a more specialised menu for your evening out.
As Ithaca is a smaller island, having your wedding in April or May will mean your guests will have no problem booking accommodation either, as it is not yet high season.
As far as your couple photo’s go, you are spoilt for choice. You will not have to worry about being over looked if you opt for a beach shoot as there are not many people around – and the beaches are dramatically beautiful! If you decide you want something a little different, for the animal lovers, we can arrange for a shepherd to bring his goats or sheep past during your shoot to ensure you have something completely unique. Or if you are someone who loves the sea, we could incorporate the local fishermen’s boats into your shoot for a splash of colour.
