While in Paris in October, I met up with the lovely Katie Donnelly. I had been to Paris a number of times but when Katie offered to show me around from a local’s perspective, I jumped at the chance!
Katie is the owner and very talented photographer behind Paris based Katie Donnelly Photography. Originally from America, love brought her to Paris in the form of a 6 foot something Frenchman. Now, years after first moving to France she is still happily in love. now fluent in French, as well as the owner of a thriving business. With my own big move to a new country (where I don’t speak the language)on the horizon, I found Katie to be a huge source of inspiration.
We chit-chatted our way through parks and along little side streets, taking photo’s as we went, until we arrived on one particular street where I made her stop. I have mentioned before how I love poetry… If you have followed this blog for a while, you would have seen me share some of my own poems here too. So when Katie took me to see an entire wall filled with French poetry, my hear literally did flip-flaps in my chest. It was just too gorgeous not to take photo’s of – and luckily for me, Katie was dressed perfectly for the occasion!
And so began one of my favourite portrait sessions – EVER! Katie, thank you for playing tour guide, model and cake-eating-partner-in-crime! You are beautiful (inside and out) and these are some of my favourite images from our little Paris adventure.
