When the lovely Sylvia first emailed me to tell me that she and her husband, Lewis, wanted a couple shoot – but not just any couple shoot, a Christmas tree farm couple shoot (!!!) – I think I actually did dance around the lounge. She then went on to tell me that she planned to wear a long red gown and that her husband would be wearing his wedding suit and a festive bowtie (good lord I love bowties!). I think my little heart did a back flip with happiness.
Two weeks later and we were making my way to Santa Fir, a Christmas tree farm near Guildford, which is home to not only hundreds of Christmas trees but to reindeer too.
This has got to be the funniest session I’ve ever shot. Between the ridiculous amounts of mud, people Christmas tree shopping and the staff at the farm (one of which stopped everything to ask if they had dress up just for the photos or were they going somewhere after), I am so pleased we got as many beautiful shots as we did. It really did turn out to be something special. These are some of my favourite images from the day.
